November is my birthday month and this year I decide to treat myself to a luxurious day of pampering at YU.AR. Salon Spa, a new beauty salon in Kifissia.
YU.AR. got its name from its owners, Yula Mega (a former multinational companies high ranking employee with background in marketing) and hair stylist Aris Pouliasis, who has extensive experience in hairdressing, both in Greece and abroad.
The two long-time friends and now collaborators had a vision of creating an oasis of beauty, wellness and relaxation, which, judging by my personal experience, I would say they achieved.
Yu.Ar. Salon Spa is a beautiful and elegant space, where the client feels truly valued and pampered.
The element of exclusivity of the place is evident from even before you enter it, as it is on the 1st floor of the building at 18, Omirou street in Kifissia. Thus, it has a distance, both physical and psychological, from the noise and traffic of the streets below. You get to relax just by entering the spa.
Upon arrival, I gave my coat to the receptionist and sat down to enjoy a warm, relaxing herbal tea, while waiting for my appointment. The space is elegant and tastefully decorated, from the large, pleasant windows to the colourful bathrobes for the clients. In fact, YU.AR. Salon Spa feels more like the tasteful home of good friends than a hair salon.
As I had come at the end of a demanding day, Aris, the owner, suggested I start with a relaxing full body massage. I didn’t need to be asked twice! The massage was just what the doctor ordered, I felt so relaxed afterwards that I was almost ready to take a nap.
Instead, I took a sip of yet another herbal tea and went on to treat my hair to a very special treatment indeed.
Yes, Botox for hair is a thing. I had never heard of it, but apparently it is the best thing you can do for your hair after a certain age. Turns out, hair, just like skin, after a while starts losing its youthful elasticity in addition to all the harsh treatments we put it through, such as dryers, hair dyes, curling irons, etc. Which makes Botox for hair a must!
The treatment enriches hair with keratin, collagen and elastin, rejuvenating hair and making them soft and shiny, just from the very first session. I do abuse my hair with colour, highlights, straightening irons, you name it. But following the treatment, my hair was shiny and healthier than it had been for ages.
While my hair was enjoying its Botox treatment, it was time to pamper my hands and nails. Needless to say, the manicure at YU.AR. Salon Spa was also a very special treatment too.
The manicure I had booked is called “Bliss Manicure” and it is a real indulgence. In addition to regular manicure, the treatment includes a peeling session for hands and arms, a mask and wrap, and finally, the highlight of the treatment, massage with melted aromatic wax! Which, in case you are wondering, doesn’t feel hot at all. The treatment left my arms smoother than ever!
It is worth noting at this point that YU.AR. uses products from the French luxury skincare brand Phytomer, and is the only such salon in the area of Kifissia.
I didn’t want to leave YU.AR. Salon Spa. I had arrived tired and stressed, but was leaving relaxed, pampered and extra confidence! A big thank you to the YU.AR. team for making my day so special.
