One of my favourite places in Athens is the city’s new cultural jewel, the impressive Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Especially these days, when it’s all decorated and shiny for Christmas. There is even an ice skating rink! With free entrance for all !

Unfortunately I haven’t yet managed to give ice skating a go. On one hand, my red silk H&M skirt wasn’t exactly skating-friendly. By the way, the particular skirt is sold out (already!), but you can find a similar here and here. On the other hand, since the entrance for the ice rink is free, a pre-registration is required (open once weekly every Tuesday). Which I didn’t know, so instead we had a pleasant walk around the Niarchos Center‘s lovely grounds. All the trees in the park where decorated, with their lights adding a magical touch to a cloudy day.
I’d say that my favourite spot is the water corridor with its rows of tall trees on either side. That and the big library indoors. The weather was okay most of the time, but the clouds grew thicker by the hour, so we had to cut our visit short as it started to rain eventually. But I wouldn’t leave without a snap in front of the Christmas trees in the main courtyard! Which didn’t make my photographer very happy, but hey, every job has its hazards, right?

Heads up! Not Dressed As A Lamb has an important question to ask you here 😉
