If there is a place in Athens that I could call my favorite hangout, this is Galaxy Bar & Restaurant on the top floor of the Hilton Athens. I do love it and try to go there as often as I can, not only for the stunning view of Athens but also for its terrific sushi bar. Which sushi, in my humble opinion, is one of the best in Athens, if not the best.
The evening started with a quick stop for an aperitif at the bar of Galaxy Bar & Restaurant. One of the things that fascinate me there is the unique and special lighting of the place. In fact, those who follow me at Instagram will have probably already seen the video in my Stories with the moving lights on the Galaxy ceiling. I can watch them play for hours!
But the star of the evening was the superb sushi of the Galaxy Bar & Restaurant. Impeccably served, we enjoyed eating it with Chinese chopsticks to maximize the Asian experience. Okay, I admit to once or twice requiring some assistance from the classic fork, but most of the time I managed just fine feeling proud.
I loved the variety of sushi offered and can’t really choose among all the different kinds. If pressed, I’d say I love anything with shrimp and/or salmon. With lots of soy sauce of course!
It goes without saying that the Galaxy Restaurant serves a lot more than just sushi, but the latter is simply my absolute favourite. Nevertheless, lovers of Mediterranean cuisine will definitely find many imaginative and enjoyable dishes to love. Oh and desserts! Did I mention the amazing desserts? My tip: try anything with chocolate. Satisfaction guaranteed!
Needless to say, such a fab place as the Hilton Athens Galaxy Bar & Restaurant demands that you honor it with the appropriate outfit. It so happens that I recently discovered a very stylish little boutique in Kolonaki, called La Fuga. It has some truly unique creations, which you will not find anywhere else. In fact, I chose the whole outfit of the evening from La Fuga! By the way, the name La Fuga comes from the word “fugare”, which in Latin means “hunting”, but also “escaping”. The designers chose it for their brand name because it best expresses the fashion vision of the experienced designers, stylists and fashion designers who sign each of the creations that you will find at La Fuga.
My outfit wouldn’t be complete though without the right accessories! So my outfit featured some equally unique jewels that I found in my other recent discovery, the L21B Art Stories store, also in Kolonaki. L21B Art Stories is a delightful place in Loukianou 21B street, whose owners, with much attention and love for art and good taste, chose the most unique creations of up and coming Greek designers. For instance, you’ll find jewelry by Angie Andrissopoulou, Marios Voutsinas, Ioannis Gkias, Dimitris Zina, Mary Zoi, Stavroula Kaziale, Lena Kallidis and many more. It is worth a visit in order to add that special touch of luxury and art in your outfit!
